About Jorge Botero Lujan

Born in Medellin, Colombia, Jorge Lujan knew as a young child he would choose a profession that the great artist Vincent Van Gogh once said, "is difficult and dirty," and for others, glamourous.

Known for his artistic technical skill, , Lujan continues to be known as an observer of light, positions and composition relating them to different eras in history, costumes and trends.

Amongst the great maters of classical art, Lujan has a fine admiration for the Spanish painter, Diego Velasquez.

Recognition

Lujan has participated in numorous solo and group exhibitions in the United States. His work has been expoed at art shows in Art Miami, Palm Beach, Naples, and NYC. His collections have been featured in the 9/11 Memorial Museum in NYC, El Museo de Antioquia and El Museo de la Universidad de Antioquia in Medellin, Colombia, along with the Fourth Brigade War Room on the Colombian Military Forces grounds. He currently has his work displayed at galleries throughout South Florida and he has works many important private collections and his paintings have been published in books, magazines and newspapers. He has exhibited in many international art fairs including ArtExpo, NY, ArtMiami, ArtPalmBeach and ArtBocaRaton.

He has lived in Florida for several years.
